Our Story: When Brilliant Minds and Deep Souls Meet

Sometimes, serendipity brings together people whose vision can change the world.

ReGuard Health began when passion, expertise, and a drive to transform healthcare converged. Their combined knowledge shortens the path from research to clinical application. Aligning expertise with patient needs ensures the latest advances reach caregivers and patients, enhancing access to superior care.

It all started with the help of a mutual friend, Assaf, a talented data scientist deeply involved in the medical cannabis industry. Thanks to his insight and generosity, Dr. Ascher Shmulewitz, a board-certified cardiologist, PhD in bioengineering, and serial entrepreneur with a strong record in medtech and biotech innovation, was introduced to Dr. Malgorzata (Gosia) Smola-Meunier, a pharmaceutical scientist with extensive expertise in drug formulation and delivery systems. Both Ascher and Gosia remain deeply grateful to Assaf for recognizing their shared vision and bringing them together at the right moment.

Their curiosity and relentless passion for advancing brain science and longevity laid the foundation for what was to come. While Gosia was building the Polish medical cannabis market, she met Magdalena (Magda) Wawrzyniak, a sharp legal mind and trusted regulatory strategist. Magda’s mastery of pharmaceutical law and healthcare compliance quickly complemented Gosia’s scientific vision, and together they forged a strong partnership focused on safely and ethically delivering novel therapies to patients.

As their vision grew, the team crossed paths with Professor Doron Todder, a globally recognized psychiatrist and academic leader in neuropsychiatry. Prof. Todder brought a wealth of clinical insight, international reputation, and deep expertise in cognitive disorders, adding a vital dimension of medical leadership to the group.

Together, these four pioneers, Ascher, Gosia, Magda, and Doron are forming ReGuard Health.

Their mission: to empower people everywhere with the science, care, and hope needed for lifelong brain vitality. What unites them is not only expertise, but a shared conviction that compassion and innovation must walk hand in hand to transform healthcare truly.

Chairman and Co-Founder: Dr. Ascher Shmulewitz, MD, PhD

A visionary physician, cardiologist, bioengineer, and serial inventor, Dr. Shmulewitz has founded and led over two dozen companies across three continents, authored 10 scientific publications, delivered more than 50 international presentations, and holds over 100 patents in cardiac devices, diagnostics, digital health, and therapeutics. Ascher’s relentless creativity and entrepreneurial spirit form the backbone of ReGuard Health’s bold, preventive approach to brain longevity.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-Founder: Dr. Malgorzata (Gosia) Smola-Meunier, PhD

Gosia is a pharmaceutical scientist with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, specializing in formulation science and drug delivery systems, including microemulsions and novel therapies. She brings a translational mindset to ensure that ReGuard Health’s innovations move effectively from research to patients, always focusing on safety, efficacy, and real-world impact.

Partner and Board Member: Chief Regulatory & Legal Officer: Magdalena (Magda) Wawrzyniak, JD

Magda is a respected attorney-at-law and co-founder of Food & Pharma Legal. Since 2011, she has advised pharmaceutical, food, and medical device companies on market entry, labeling, distribution, and advertising, including compliance with packaging waste regulations. Magda represents clients before leading regulatory authorities and is a recognized speaker and author in her field. With a law degree from the University of Warsaw and advanced studies in French and European law, she is fluent in English and French. Magda’s regulatory mastery and devotion to patient advocacy ensure ReGuard Health meets the highest standards of legal and ethical responsibility.

Partner & Chief Medical Advisor: Prof. Doron Todder, MD, PhD

Prof. Doron Todder is the clinical heart of ReGuard Health. With rare expertise in mathematics, physics, and medicine, he brings unmatched rigor and a multidisciplinary perspective to the study of brain longevity. Board-certified in psychiatry and a leader in digital mental health, neuromodulation, and neuropsychiatric research, Prof. Todder’s work is recognized worldwide.
